About Derek Souers05/22/2011

General Info:
I have been using computers since I was around six years old. It all began
when my father bought a Commodore 64.
Over the next few years, I eventually became bored with playing arcade games
and started to develop my own games and programs in BASIC. I was even able
to mimic some of the classic platforms games that were only available on the console
at the time. Due to the slow speed of BASIC, I started learning MOS 65XX
Assembly.
When I was 16, I was given a 286 computer from church. I was quick to adapt to the
new machine and mastered the system in about two months knowing the in's and out's
of DOS, Windows 3.1x and X86 system architecture.
About a half a year later, I built
my own Cyrix based 200 MHZ computer from parts. Since then I have built, repaired,
and upgraded
many computer systems.
From there I graduated from the
University
of Akron and received my Bachelors of Science in
Computer Science. I'm located in Canton, OH.
When I'm not at work, I like to tinker with gadgets, hardware, and develop utilities
and productivity tools.
